Importance of Congregational Prayers

As we all know Prayer is the second pillar of Islam. It has greater religious values for Muslims not only in life but also after death. Allah and His Prophet Muhammad PBUH put great emphasis on offering prayers, either individual prayers or congregation Prayers. As prophet Muhammad PBUH said, the whole earth is a mosque for you, so pray wherever you are when time of prayer comes.

Now question is why reward for congregational prayers is 25 to 27 times more than individual prayers, when there is no restriction in our religion for place. The answer is simple and clear. Allah loves when His creation put their efforts in doing something good or religious.

Congregational Prayers

These are the prayers performed by a group of people behind Imam in mosques. He is someone who has proper knowledge about Quran, Hadiths and has good repute in society. All the people stand behind Imam in parallel rows facing Qibla. Prayer in congregation is considered to have more social and spiritual benefits then praying individual. As Islam is the name of brother-hood, and these prayers gave us a chance to meet different people. During such meetings we come to know different problems of other and can join hands to help them.  These prayers are also symbol of Unity and power against non-Muslims, this is the reason because of which Muslims recommended to offer daily prayers in their near mosques but for Juma prayers gather at central mosques at same place. The biggest congregation represented at the time of Hajj. When there become no different either by wealth or belongings.
