All
around the world, everyone does have charm for a new dress. As far as Muslims
concern, we take clothing in two contexts, dressing for daily life and dressing
for prayers. There is no special difference in both, if you have worn proper
Islamic dress then there is no need to change for prayers. However, if you are
in shorts or blazers kind of dressing then you should go for a decent one. The
difference in two is presentation how you want to come in front of your Lord,
Allah. If some dress is not suitable for public appearance then how it can be
for your Lord.
Islam
put great emphases on proper dressing. Modernism does not depend upon short
dresses but in your Thoughts. You should wear whatever you like but considering
Islamic codes of dress in minds. As explained by Allah in His divine book of
knowledge Quran as;
“O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness - that is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember.”
(Qur'an
7:26)
Dua for Dressing
Dressing is task, which we perform
frequently then why should not ask Allah for His blessings in this regard. This
is also in Islamic etiquettes of wearing dress, first recite dua, and then
change your dress. There are number of sources from where you can get such
duas.
"All praise belongs to Allah who adorned me with clothing by which I cover (hide) my private areas and by which I obtain beauty in my life.”
One of Quran reading mobile applications
also provides you a list of duas. You can access this app by using links:
Point to Pounder while Dressing
These are points we
all should consider for a proper Muslim dressing.
- The clothes should conceal the body adequately.
- They should impart dignity and good looks.
- They should not fail to satisfy the requirements of adequate concealment of the body.
- Nor should they be so ugly and clumsy that instead of enhancing beauty, they mar the wearer's appearance.
Definitely, clothes
are great blessing of Allah and we should be thankful to Him for His noble
blessing. Start it by saying some special words and continue with other verses
as well.
